Product features

The 71-1D-7 CNP is a high speed butt-seamer that has high lift cams for joining thicker knits. It sews a 3/8" flat butt seam at speed (up to 4000 rpm) and is completely nickel plated for use in harsh environments or when joining wet material.

The 71-1D-7 CNP is a high lift, chemically nickel plated butt-seamer that is used for joining medium weight wet or dry knits. It is a single needle, one thread, double row differential feed machine with cutters.

WHY it's better

The 71-1D-7 sews a flat and strong 3/8" stitch that is tighter and more compact than the traditional Merrow butt seam. The narrow width creates a strong joint on knit fabric, and the 71-1D-7 excels at seaming medium weight goods. With minimal part upgrades, the 71-1D-7 CNP can easily be converted to sew a two-thread seam.

HOW it's better

The 71-1D-7 CNP has unique high lift cams, making it suitable for sewing heavier knits. It is coated with a chemically adhered nickel plating which allows the machine to be used in wet or caustic environments where corrosion is a concern and it does not recirculate oil to prevent the internal buildup of particulates common in factory environments.

WHERE it's used

The 71-1D-7 CNP is used in wet industrial environments where fast seaming of medium weight knit fabric is required. The nickel plating makes the machine ideal for dye houses or facilities that specialize in bleaching, mercerising, washing, or printing.

The 71-1D-7 CNP is one of more than 350 variations of the Merrow 70-D3B-2
